Learn how to spot fake Adidas Superstar Foundations with this detailed 25 point step-by-step guide by goVerify.

6. Box Construction

Adidas Superstar Foundations come in a sturdy retail box, make sure the lid doubles over back into the box to create structural strength. Check that the lid section which folds back into the box is attached with two small glued down tabs. Also note how the side walls, when viewed from inside the box, have a locking system that does not require any gluing. The side panels have tabs that stick right through holes cut into the side corners.

12. Shell Toe

Adidas Superstar Foundations have the classic rubber shell toe cap. Look closely at the fine X texture in the rubber. Also note how the shell toe cap is a separate piece of rubber to the rest of the midsole. Make sure the heavy duty stitching joking the two is tight, neat and evenly spaced. This is also a good opportunity to check the stitching quality around the laces holes.

19. Inside Label (R)

Inside label details vary depending on year, country of manufacture and style. Look for the country of manufacture, shoe size, factory code (usually starts with 2-3 letters) and date of production (MM/YY). Make sure the style (ART) number and purchase order (#) number match the retail box label. Lastly there will be a 13 digit Unique Security Number, make sure it is different on each shoe, the last 3 digits are usually different. Tip: Google search "Adidas"+"ART number" to check that the colourway is correct.

22. Insole

The insole of Superstar Foundations is soft rubber with an Adidas and Trefoil logo pattern embossed across it. Make sure the stitching joining the insole to the upper is neat and evenly spaced.
